Glinda of Oz

Whew! It's been a while since I posted anything. Lately it's just been work, work, work -_- But when I get a minute I still manage to sketch one or two things.
Recently I took on an illustration project for an 'Oz' book, and for the past weeks I've been totally immersed in everything 'Oz.' It's been so great re-discovering just how much I used to, and still do, love it ^^ So now I'm on this major 'Oz' kick, and since I am, I did a few sketches of some of the original characters from the Baum stories, one of which is this one of Glinda. You might notice I took the design from the John R. Neil depiction of her, an illustrator I have always admired. I think his drawings in the books are just fantastic. Still, I tried to put my own spin on it, too.
I don't do bare-pencil sketches too often cause I always mess up and erase a bunch of times, but somehow this just flowed out so perfectly that I felt I didn't even need to ink it or anything. It just looks fine the way it is, I think, so I'm a little bit proud of it ^^ Though maybe someday I would like to ink and color it.
